Looks like the cork is the only thing that Hugh Syme added to the artwork: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/santiago-flight-513-wormhole/

I echo the sentiments of reviewers here - it was a neat idea to put the two books of Cygnus X-1 on one record, but the pressing is awful! Mine came with a big audible scratch on Side 2 (Book 2) as well as the milky appearance on the vinyl that Patti12 reported. I am not at all surprised to see this was pressed at - Rainbo - most of the terrible pressings I own came from this plant that, apparently had ZERO quality control. The closure of this plant is no loss! Good riddance....

This would be a nice idea for a repress. Original run was apparently shitty, so they could improve that and then put it out for around $20 usd or less would be nice. Doubt any of that will happen though...

poor packaging. it certainly doesn't weigh 180g.
but to my delight, the disc I own has no ovalization problems and sounds great.
however, the price is a bit high compared to what it offers -

Edited 6 years agoI've been revisiting my RSD catalog lately, and agree with other reviews about the poor record quality. My copy, which looks NM, has surface noise through out the record, distorted sounds and sibilance on the cymbals/vocals. It's too bad because this is a very nice package to own, and I like having the option of listening to Cygnus on vinyl, in it's entirely without having to change records. I'd recommend to anyone who is thinking of buying one to buy one used and ensured it's play graded VG+ or better. Hopefully, there are a few good ones pressed.

Can't really recommend this one. My disc has weird dirty looking film on it and is a bit warped which affects the sound on Side A. On top of that, both sides (but especially Side B) has lots of non-fill, so Geddy's vocals and Neil's cymbals sound very harsh and sibilant from time to time. Definitely not the definitive way to enjoy the Sean Magee mastered versions of these songs. Not worth the 29€ I paid for this, as this is worth more like ~15€ - in my opinion of course.
