All Media : erspart Dir dann noch den zusätzlichen Limited Edition, Numbered Tag pro Zeile oder eben auch Colored im FTF.
D.h. wird verwendet für alle tags die auf die verschiedenen Formate zutreffen und sieht dann so aus im Beispiel

The intent of the guideline change was to put in there what is already the methodology on the site.
The compact method is logically wrong, but we also have to accept that there are a lot of preexisting releases in the database using the format in this way. Further, the expanded method may be problematical for new s and / or cause a clumsy display on large box sets. I think taking steps toward a better way (both regarding data entry and display methods) is the best way to figure out what we need to do to develop and improve things.

Bei dem Release hätten manche Leute einfach alle LPs in eine Zeile zusammengefasst, bspw. so:
2 × LP, Compilation
10 × LP, Album
Box Set.
Das wäre jedoch logischerweise falsch, denn die zweite Zeile sagt ja in dem moment aus, dass 1 Album aus 10 LPs besteht. tatsächlich sind es ja aber mehrere verschiedene Alben, weswegen die komplett ausgeschriebene weise, wie sie grad im release da steht, von der Logik her mehr sinn ergibt.
Macht eigentlich auch bei einem "Best of" Release keinen Sinn da aus 2xLP mal eben 1xLP + 1xLP zu machen, da dieses Release ja nun einmal eine Zusammenstellung verschiedener Titel von verschiedenen Platten ist und als solches ein eigenständiges Release mit eigenem Namen darstellt...

Wie das dann optisch aussieht, bei den 5 alten Releases verteilt auf 6 Platten, sei mal dahin gestellt...
Mag sein das es so gemeint ist, aber aus dem RSG §6.1.2 kann ich dies so nicht heraus lesen. Da gilt es generell, wobei man sich für die compact oder die expanded Variante entscheiden kann.

Jedes einzelne Album ist eine Reissue für sich, und das ganze Release zusammen (hier durch Box Set gekennzeichnet. Alternativ wäre bspw. auch "All Media" verwendbar, wenn kein Box Set vorliegt), ist eine Compilation.

Soso - jetzt darf ein Sampler nicht mehr im MR aufscheinen - als nächstes kommen die Promos weg? Es ist mal wieder unlogisch - und bevor sie die MR vernünftig strukturieren schmeissen sie lieber die ganze Struktur von Discogs. Vermutlich hat sich ein Käufer beschwert der blindlings was um 10 Cent gekauft hat und ein volles Album statt einem Sampler erwartet hat.

RSG §4.7.9.Look out for catalog numbers in typographic artwork, including those possibly accidentally left on an item by a licensee label. For example, Japanese re-releases of albums sometimes use the artwork in its entirely. Try not to enter the 'old' catalog number.
This is the only explicit guideline that suggests that 'legacy' numbers may be omitted from data entry. The concept can be extrapolated to the label / company credits themselves as well.
It is my opinion that we have to accept that the end may not know what company / cat# on the release is 'active', and which is 'inactive'. By allowing all to be entered, we can then explain in the release notes / on the label pages etc where the company stopped being active, or which number is considered legacy etc.
This is simpler for the data entry, and captures the most information.

Doch - Du solltest das dann auch ganz durchlesen;

If the titles are displayed inconsistently in multiple locations, use the one that is most correct and document the others in the release notes. If this cannot be determined, please create a thread in the database help forums.

Ich habe die Guideline-Änderung und die dazugehörige Diskussion wie folgt verstanden, Beispiel:
Die Tracklist auf Release A:
1. Der Hund
2. Käse
3. Wald
Die Tracklist auf Release A Version 2:
1. Ein Hund
2. Käse
3. Wald
Obwohl es sich bei Track 1 jeweils um den selben Track handelt, wird er "as on Release" eingegeben, also "Der Hund" und bei der anderen Submission "Ein Hund". Mit dem neuen Feature "Tracks" können die beiden Tracks trotz unterschiedlicher Titel miteinander verknüpft werden.
Wobei multiple locations in der neuen Fassung sich nicht auf verschiedene Releases bezieht, sondern auf verschiedene Stellen auf dem gleichen Release, also z.B. Rückseite, Booklet, Label.
Das wurde in der Diskussion noch mal klargestellt.
