I think the mastering sounds great but unfortunately my copy has non-fill and it produces loud scratching sounds on side 1. Side 2 plays perfectly. Thankfully Rhino will be sending me a replacement. Conversely my Stooges and Alice Cooper RHF's I received around the same time both play without issue so overall I'm pretty happy with this series.

Edited 26 days agoI can't be the only lucky one to have received a copy with noise on planet caravan right? And then a less noticeable bit of noise on rat salad?

I did wonder why I was buying yet another copy of this album but after reading the reviews here I decided I must listen to it. Needless to say it was worth every penny (I paid a lot here in the U.K.). It sounds very different to the U.K. og and I did miss the gloom and overall muffled sound at first. The new mastering brings the album alive, it is to my ears more raw, the guitar is cutting and the drumming is just so much clearer and more dynamic. Most of this has been said already so I will stop now!

It's perfect. Can't wait for him to do Masters next. Keep em coming!
Believe all the hype but also don't over pay just for a numbered version. -

This pressing is on par with the 2006 Kevin Gray cut. Honestly dont hear much difference between the two, the Rhino Hi fi is quieter and on much better vinyl though. As for the jackets, no questions here this jacket is a thing of beauty. If you have the 2006 cut, you can live with it until this gets an unnumbered repressing. These two are raw, thunderous and sound like an RL LZII

#1100 over here, if that’s of anyone’s interest.
I was perfectly happy with my 2023 reissue, but being a favorite album of mine, and seeing the rave reviews of this pressing, many saying it’s the very best, I bought into the hype and got a copy. This cut makes the 2023 pressing sound like child’s play. Everything is so clear while retaining the immense powerful sound of the original recording, it’s almost magical just how good this sounds. Truly the best I’ve heard it and probably the best I will ever hear it. I do agree, while the cover is lavish looking, it is tight and annoying to get the record in and out of. Nevertheless, phenomenal pressing and worth it for me at least. -
