Edited one month agoLoud tics all through “The Haunting” — even after a VPI-16.5 clean. Everything else is fine.
I asked VMP for a replacement… but we all know how that’s gonna end.
Really looking forward to the RhinoHiFi version — they have awesome customer service! -
If you can only get your hands on the Warner / Rhino reissue pressing, breathe easy… you’re not missing much with this one.
-
What a beautiful record. I love the OBI, the booklet inside, the vintage poster.. the color of the splatter like the song (Orchid) and the sound is phenomenal.
If you're a fan I'd suggest get a copy until prices are reasonable, it's fantastic -
Awesome awesome record (in fact...I plan to just keep this one as my sole copy when an RHF version is released, even though I have S/T and Paranoid RHF's.)
But shitty shitty company. Glad to finally be free of them.... -

I have the UK 1st pressing and the German1st pressing and this blows them both away.
Technics 1200G with Vertere Sabre through Gold Note PH 10 with PSU.
Absolutely phenomenal clarity, punch and a huge soundstage.
Highly recommended. -
About freakin' time this came after the many delays since early last year. Was almost going to get a refund if there was one more, anyways this was absolutely well worth the wait.
Think it's my favourite splatter vinyl, cover and the extras are fantastic. Sound wise I've never heard classic Black Sabbath so clear, while still having that rawness we love about this era.
Since I'm international, what a way to end buying from VMP. If they do something I love well I'll get it some other way -

Edited 2 months agoLooks good and it sounds good and sucked that I had to wait almost a year to get it from VMP

Edited 2 months agoI’m a sucker for coloured/splatter vinyl so out of the gate I’m all in.
The good….exceptional mastering just sounds fat and wide. Probably has lost alittle of the muddiness which was characteristic of this album in general ( that can be good or bad depending on ur take??) the sleeve booklet, poster and artwork in general are top draw. Absolute quality start to finish.
The bad…..:the f’n 360 day wait….WTF?? VMP have likely lost some costumers for sure.
