Recently picked up a very clean copy of this record. To echo previous comments, the quality on this pressing is nearly unrivaled by any piece in my 600+ piece collection. If you can find a copy, get it yesterday (all those troubles seemed so far away).
-
Probably the best sounding record in my collection. to be fair I haven't tried any other pressings of this album, but just compared to the quality of other albums old and new I own this beats them by a long-shot. Managed to find this NM for only $15 in a local store. great find. I'm considering tracking down other Beatles albums in this 1976 Japanese series to replace some of my lesser condition records.

Quiet as expected of a Japanese pressing but side B sounds off on my copy. Vocals peaking especially on All you need is love. this is my first copy of MMT I’ve listened to so maybe my ears are just shot

Not a fan of this pressing. It is honestly my first Beatles vinyl. Its very bright. I have to turn it way down on the volume to listen to it. I was hoping for a more well balanced mix but am really disappointed.

If I could give this album 10 stars I would give them 20. Amazing pressing the bass sounds just perfect all percussion sounds amazing mid range it's just perfect. A definitely must own.

Edited 3 years agoI want this vinyl to replace my Capitol version from 1976...now with another part of the family...LOL....would this be a good or better sounding replacement? Keep in mind I know this is the Capitol version..which is why I want it... really love the EAS anyway...but want this particular version. Or should I get the Capitol version again...
OK. So just got this for my collection (see above) and compared to the 1976 Capitol Orange label I have ...this version blows it away...at first I was nervous thinking it was sub standard ...based on the bad reviews...but...yet again hearing is believing. The drums sound better the cymbals dont sound like garbage cans ..the bass is tight and not bloated..the mix sounds great and for the first time since I purchased my TOJP copy I actually enjoyed listening to the opening song...which ... all my other versions..including cds..sound congested and IMO annoying. Not on this copy at all...overall a very enjoyable listen. And if you grew up on this it is a fine addition to your collection...think of it as the original but better. Again every ear and equipment choice is different. But on mine...its so worth it and an enjoyable listen,
