Analogue Productions is bringing out a 2 x 45 LP set “in the Summer” cut from the original master tapes. Anyone contemplating this box set should hang fire for that.

Edited one year agoUpdate - So I bit the bullet and bought this, it's very punchy and has nice dynamics imo. I don't have an original yet but can say the bass is deep and cymbals can be heard well. Hopefully I can get an original soon to compare with but this will suffice for now.
How is the sound quality of this vinyl pressing please? I'm desperate for a good copy of this and don't have the $ for a UK original in good shape pressing. -
Why not release a separated vinyl version from a CD version? Most collectors (even for the big fans like myself) prefer one or another, and only a few get both formats. CDs collector like me (and the majority fan base nowadays) will NOT pay more than a double amount for the vinyl. I'll be looking forward the standalone CD and DVD versions of this set.

Edited 2 years agoFor that kind of prices (and for my money - in the truest sense of EVERY word) this box is sadly not the big deal it looks like. The best thing of all is the lavish book. The DVD contents are freely available elsewhere in the very same quality (no improvement here). As for the 2 live CDs, you really got to be a big fan to enjoy the Ash in this kind of quality (there's way better stuff around) and an even bigger hardcore fan to dig them with a brass section (those tracks are the absolute low points of this set)! Apart from that, these mixed media concepts (vinyl and CDs) aren't really appealing to most folks - I, for one, don't get off on them (I only bought this for the extra material, and I'm disappointed with it). Anyway - I will be selling my copy again . . .

So is there any information on how this has been remastered? Digitally, or from the analogue tapes? Thanks! I can't bring myself to buy this box set for that price. Looks like a cash grab to me, when they just throw in live tracks across multiple discs. Hopefully there will be standalone release of the LP at some point.
