This remastering, and all the other recent colour variants sound wanky af. Too rolled off at the top end and crap dynamics.
The cd is way better, even the original vinyl sounds better despite being a thin single album.
Wasted opportunity, this could have been mastered properly and pressed at 45rpm -
Awesome pressing ... super clean .. no pops or clicks ... remastered beautifully and looks stunning in transparent green . Highly recommended.
-
In my copy Older’s saxophone is completely strident. I was expecting a more balanced sound with this pressing.
-
Edición simplemente perfecta. No he detectado ningún problema de prensado, clicks o pops. No veo motivo de queja alguno.
-
Amazing press. Nice sound. Bass is clear. Fastlove to my taste has got more bass than digital press.
But for God Sake. Jesus to a Child sounds just fenomenal. After sad Elton John's Remaster of The One album - this is just fantastic sound copy. -
-
Stands up to a direct comparison to the original just now, which is nice in these days of sometimes awful represses!

Edited 2 years agoGlad to have this great album on vinyl at last. It sounds slightly different to my original CD, not as ‘digital’ and brittle.
I love it though.
Pressing is clean, clear and the soundstage is a bit wider and deeper than my CD version. No sibilance or distortion and hardly any background noise, bass is warm and rich (modded technics SL1200MK2 with Benz Micro headshell/stylus into musical fidelity X-LP phono stage into Marrantz PM6007 amp)
Mine is perfectly flat with no pops crackles or infil. Nice heavy plates as well.
I also always clean all my new vinyl before playing.
In fact this pressing ‘sings’ revealing details I’d not heard on the CD.
Probably one of the best pressings I’ve bought this year.
It looks amazing as well, packaging is great. Bunged some lined paper sleeves on them to protect them from those stiff card inner sleeves.
At last a pressing that does justice to the source material.
Beautiful, no complaints here.
Also a bittersweet experience as it reinforces just how much George is missed and what an amazing vocalist he was as well as an artist, the vocals are wonderfully staged and mixed on this making it a magical and engrossing listen. :(
Now please issue ‘Patience’ on double vinyl!! :)
Then I’ll be truly happy… -
Edited one year agoThis one sounds really good to me. No pops, no sibilance, deep bass. Great presentation also.
beauteful colored vinyl, thick cardboard. Great indeed. -
