My copy sounds pretty damn good for the most part. But gawtdamn the IGD is baaad on the last track of both sides. Not like “I’m never listening to this again” bad. But definitely “damn… that kinda sucks. At least it’s only like a minute or two on both sides” bad. I’ve got far worse in my collection from records that were more expensive. I’ll take it.

Quite a good sounding pressing. A bit muddy in the midrange but nothing really terrible. It sounds quite fantastic all things considered, and it's quite cheap too

Echo others’ comments: this is a really nice sounding pressing; no clicks/pops or surface noise to be heard; great quality for the going price.

Sounds great, this is really a good quality pressing in of audio! That being said, you may need to clean it multiple times. After an initial cleaning in a Spin Clean I had skips on every track on Side A. After cleaning again Side A is perfect and there are still a few skips on Side B, so I might try another clean to see if that solves things once and for all.

I have the black vinyl version and I was frankly stunned at how good this release sounds. No noise, clicks or pops. Great separation and imaging. Would not hesitate to recommend this one.

Edited 3 years agoDoes sound quite good.
My copy was glued into the inner, and I had to wrap one hand in microfiber towel, and pinch the inner sleeve with the other hand, to extricate it from the inner sleeve for the first time. Hard to cope with when you're a little OCD about keeping your new records NM!
I need to compare with my 1979 copies, but either my right tweeter is blown, or there's some distortion on A1 with the signature synthesizer lead (Update: distortion appears to be decreasing with cleaning).
As I am finding on many new releases, the vinyl right out of the sleeve was covered with filth (especially paper fiber and what seems to be glue powder), had a couple stripes of persistent gluey lines (that came out with glass cleaner), and a good number of (what appeared to be) scuffs (see Update) apparently from getting manhandled at the pressing plant. There were skips on A4, which were caused by persistent debris (after cleaning, of course).
Update: B1 had several skips. It had some obvious marks that for all the world looked like "compression scrapes," like the record had been dragged against a hard surface with weight upon it. Under sunlight, there were a couple more "deeper" marks near the first.
I spread Goo-Gone in the area and scrubbed it with a stylus brush. The "scrapes" were gone, and the skips were diminished down to one little one. Repeated cleaning should remove it.
It's almost a heartbreaker that they would go to so much effort to make a great-sounding record, and then practically ruin it at the very final step. I wonder how many record enthusiasts would take the effort to do all the remediation on this item, or rather just throw up their hands in despair. -
