I love what they've done here but the crackles and pops and clicks are just too much on the first disc, totally takes me out of it. Will try a replacement.
-
There's some slight surface noise like others have mentioned but otherwise a fantastic pressing of AN AMAZING arrangement. Braxton snapped.

Edited 3 years agoDespite some slight surface noise in the beginning, it’s quite a great pressing! Such a unique look and awesome packing! Really one of the highlights of my collection.
The music brings me back to a sentimental time so nostalgia might blind me a bit but the orchestration and arrangements are fantastic! Reminds me of when I brought my DS and copy of Pokémon Heart Gold with me when I was younger to see the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Mann with my family, got stung by a wasp before we went there but such sweet sweet memories. -
Fantastic sound quality. Spinning with an Ortofon 2M Blue - not hearing any sound issues whatsoever. The sound stage is phenomenal

My copy unfortunately has several really rough pops throughout the first disc. The second seems fine. Other than that, the pressing sounds fantastic and the music is incredible!

+ Great pressing, very faint surface noise in some spots.
+ The orchestral music shines in a good setup. Listening to the different pieces from flutes to the trumpet to the wind chimes are so graceful and majestic.
+ Great renditions of the Pokemon classics.
- No tracklist on sleeves a bit of a bummer. I love to look at the artwork as I listen to albums.
If you like the Pokemon music it is brought to life beautifully in this release!

Edited 6 years agoI have preordered it back in June 2017, it should have arrived by November/December 2017. It is now June 2018 and I finally have it in my hands! I had already listened to Braxton's work on Spotify and it is just impressive.
This album records a journey through the Johto region and will bring you back to your childhood with fantastic orchestrations of the original music by Junichi Masuda.
Moreover I found adding Lugia's Song from Pokémon 2: The Power Of One a winning choice: this orchestrated version is probably the best revisiting I have ever heard.
If you love jazz, like me, you would fall in love with "Team Rocket Strikes Back": Jules Conroy's guitar, impressive.
Talking about the vinyl itself it is very quiet, with practically no surface noise, which is important for a vinyl like this one, also the artwork is absolutely beautiful: a piece of art.
To be honest I loved the idea to have a gold and a silver vinyl as they were announced in the first place (when I preordered them they were d as gold and silver vinyl) but also this black and withe version is good.
Concluding I would say that this amazing work deserved a really good quality vinyl pressing and this one is a very good one, it worthed the wait.
