I used to love iam8bit, I truly did. One of the first real collectors pieces I ever got was their original Undertale release, with the special Dogsong 7". I've stayed with iam8bit over the years because they were pressing awesome stuff and their quality was always great. Then things started to drop off. Wait-times became longer, communication got worse, and they seemed to care less and less about the customer experience. I stuck around for a time hoping this was a blip, but no.

While I normally have a lot of patience for industry delays, iam8bit has fallen into the unreasonable. Oxenfree and Gravity Falls were sold as "mystery art" when the reality was that they didn't have anything even close to finalized, the Persona box pre-order was horribly communicated, and they even it to thinking of customers as "Investors in pieces of culture" while also ignoring said "investors" and keeping them in the dark about the un-cancellable pre-orders they made TWO YEARS PRIOR.

Another strike against 8bit that I've had for years has been their approach to re-presses. I was told by 8bit on twitter once that limited editions would never be re-pressed, as it would be "unfair to those who purchased a copy". Purposeful or not, this does nothing but feed the scalper marker and harsh the customer experience. I am lucky enough to own the Cuphead complete edition, and I for one can say I wouldn't bat an eye at a repress if it meant more people had access to the music they wanted.

On the whole, the customer experience at iam8bit had degraded to such an extent that I will no longer be buying from them. While I'm sure that means I'll be missing out on some much desired pieces in the future, I cannot in good conscience a company that takes customers money for an idea, holds it hostage for two years, and then delivers a sub-standard product, all the while saying (as near as makes no difference) nothing about the production process.

I love a lot of the video games albums they press. However, the waiting game is beyond ridiculous. We are on two years for the Oxenfree repress. When they do decided to do represses, it's just a waiting game. They do not update you much on anything. They are exhausting to deal with and nasty.

Please sign this petition for the 4x LP Cuphead repress. Price is out of hand.

Good quality but sadly the amount of repress is horrible. There are releases that didn't get even single repress and people sell them for incredibly overpriced amount of money

basically the label that attracts scalpers since they very rarely repress albums after release. kinda disappointing.

iam8bit are an absolutely appalling company to deal with. Bought a few things and always said "Never Again". But ths time I mean it. Bought a pre-orde from the UK store, they never met the schedule so asked to cancel my pre-order. They gave me a shop credit refund but by now they've closed the UK store and minimum shipping from the US is over $40 plus import duties etc. An absolute sham of a company. They should just stop pretending to care about customers outside of the US or stop shipping internationally.

Awful scheduling, abysmal communication issues, and scam prices attracting scalpers like flies. Product quality's pretty good though!

Missing a few releases from this list it seems. Will need to add to it when my orders arrive
