The sound quality is excellent, however my copy is riddled with noise. It was a fairly expensive RSD release, I was hoping for some decent quality. Disappointed.
-
Very good pressing. Zero crackle and vinyl is flat as a pancake. Sound is full, rich and punchy. I like this new track selection; the original was also good, but I prefer the variety on this one. Must be hard to choose, so much amazing music from time and place.

Awww this is the worst pressing I ever had. Like a campfire the whole album. Deep cleaning on my Okki Nokki made no difference. No more QC these days!

A generally good collection of songs, but no idea why they keep changing the tracklist, RSD 2023 is different again with no ESG. -

Very different track list from the 2003 version of this title. -

This has a different tracklist compared to the original pressing: https://soundsoftheuniverse.com/sjr/product/new-york-noise-2015-dance-music-from-the-new-york-underground-1977-1982 -

There is nothing disappointing about this compilation. Sure, an artist may have been left out or tracks overlooked. However what is on the compilation is pure listening pleasure. -

Another slightly confused post-punk/dance compilation from Soul Jazz: if you're supposed to be highlighting NY's early eighties avant-garde club culture, why haven't you included August Darnell's excellent remix of "Contort Yourself" rather than the (ittedly also great) rockier Contortions version? And it may be an obvious tune to drop, but Dinosaur L's "Go Bang" is infinitely preferable to the cheesy "Clean On Your Bean" included here (and if you had to include a lesser known Arthur Russell tune on the album, why not "Wax The Van"?). Disappointing.
