Notes
Eye in the Sky is the sixth studio album by British rock band the Alan Parsons Project, released in May 1982 by Arista Records. At the 25th Annual Grammy Awards in 1983, Eye in the Sky was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album. In 2019, the album won the Grammy Award for Best Immersive Audio Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.
Production
Eye in the Sky is the first of three albums the Project recorded on analogue equipment and mixed directly to the digital master tape.
Release
Eye in the Sky was the last platinum record in the United States from the band.
Eye in the Sky contains the title track, the Project's biggest hit, with lead vocals by Eric Woolfson. The album itself was a major success, reaching the top 10 (and sometimes the number one slot) in numerous countries.
The album features the instrumental piece "Sirius", which has become a staple of many college and professional sporting arenas throughout North America. It is best known for its use by the Chicago Bulls to introduce its starting line-up during its championship years of the 1990s and is still used today.
Another instrumental, "Mammagamma", was used separately by TVNZ in New Zealand and BBC Wales in the mid-1980s for their snooker coverage, and as a bed for the "My Favourite Five" feature on Tony Fenton's late-night 2FM show in Ireland across 1989 and 1990. The instrumental also saw use in an industrial video for Iveco in Italy.
On 1 December 2017, a 35th-anniversary-edition box set of the album was released, for which Alan Parsons, along with surround mastering engineers Dave Donnelly and PJ Olsson, won the Grammy Award for Best Immersive Audio Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

Hi comunity,
I Just got this recent french copy. I have no other release (ie. 1982) to make comparaison With.
This copy is perfect silent, flat, centered, and dust free (Surprise).
This copy presents a perfect balance between all s, the voice is centered within the sound Space with no projection forward. No bass proéminent, The sound image remains gently behind the HP plan.
Some of you man say "No Life". Maybe, but listen to this album you may change your opinion….

Yeah, this record sounds amazing. Such clarity and detail. Highly recommend.
-
Fantastic sound ! - bright stage !
BUT - my version is very wavy and has a slight gray haze - after washing, it was all gone, but I'm not used to that from Mofi, as their quality control has been good so far. - A bit disappointing for the price.
Wash it and put it in the AFI toaster - then everything should be fine.

Haven't listened to this for a while. I do not know why as I love this album and this pressing is quite simply stunning.
Great sound and detail, silent, good quality pressing all round. If you were thinking of buying this one, go ahead, you will not regret it.
I will be on the look out for more Speakers Corner editions. -
Another fabulous pressing from Record Industry using the Music On Vinyl lacquers. This sounds great and compared to an original US pressing that has seen better days, this one holds up very well. No complaints here. Full soundstage, dynamic, solid bass and crisp highs. Very warm for an all digital recording. This pressing is an example of what all LPs should sound like, clean with very deep dark blacks where it is called for.
I have enjoyed all of the MoV pressings, have them all except Eve and my least favorite APP, Vulture Culture (though I do have originals of those as well). -

Edited 4 months agoI now have the entire Alan Parsons MOV vinyl series and all I can say is Bravo, what a job well done. Heavy, flat, quiet vinyl that sounds great, every single one of them including the top masterpiece Eye In The Sky. They even replicated the gold foil on the cover and also put gold lettering on the black hype sticker too. Oddly this title now appears out of print while you can still readily pick up all the others.

The MoFi scandal has caused my owners of these records to dump them on the second hand market in disgust. This is, thereof, a great time to pick up these great sounding pieces for [pun intended] a song.

Edited 5 months agoJust received my copy today. Just got through the amazing transition from Sirius through to Eye In The Sky - it sounds absolutely amazing. One of the best sounding records in my small collection. Highly recommend this pressing.
Edit: I’m now several songs in and I just had to come back on here and say that this is a phenomenal sounding record. The soundstage is incredible. The vocals have so much life, clarity, and presence. I will be listening to this album A LOT! -
Edited 4 months agoThis has an extended low-end(bass) that fits in perfectly with the neutral mastering and fine detail retrieval of the musicians.
The music itself if not recognisable or familiar will soon be appreciated for its splendour, then the only thing you`ll wish for is MORE!
My disc has a "dish warp but nothing that my record clamp cannot deal with, surface noise is v/good for the price but mine has two very minor pressing defects that don`t distract from the wonderful music too much.
Recommended for lovers of 80`s Rock,Prog Rock, Pop Rock etc.
Five stars buy with confidence.
