I have absolutely no sibilance issues as noted by the last entry. I acquired a nice copy and put it through an ultrasonic bath and it sounds fantastic from start to finish. Killer mix on this vinyl. Powerful low end. Crisp and clear mids - highs. This is a really good press.

Stained Class remains one of Priest's absolute finest albums and one of the pinnacles of their seventies era material,
This album makes me feel different in each cut of the disc, each song does not follow a similar pattern, structurally is very different , this
creates relaxing atmospheres, like other brutal, hot and cold , and a storm of pure HEAVY METAL, sounding something unique, not copies of anything or anyone.
The origins of extreme metal are hinted at in pieces such as ‘EXCITER’, which elaborates further on the quintet’s advancement towards more aggressive techniques and motifs, heavy on palm muted rhythmic guitar riffs and rapid fire double bass pedals, overlaid with ROB HALFORD"S banshee-like falsetto and lead guitars which although in of patterns and scales are not yet free of the restraints of rock music from previous decades, clearly set a BENCHMARK for the revival of neoclassical technique in the metal genre
BEYOND THE REALMS OF DEATH one of the best songs of the disc, composed by newcomer to the band Les Binks, has everything you need to have to embroider the disc, a beautiful ballad , incredible rhythms, long solos, a battle between Tipton and Downing endless, a long 6 minutes 51 seconds to make it short.

Very nice pressing of this classic Priest album. Thick and quiet it rocks from start to finish. Beyond the Realms of Death is a masterpiece.

This pressing sounds great. Drums like they're in the room with you. Recommended.

I have this and a 78 original, sound wise the original is better but not enough to worry about. The album artwork on the other hand is worth buying the original alone, the 2017 looks like a bad photocopy. You can pick up the original cheaper than the repress so makes it a no brainer.

Don't you just love 70's Priest? I actually like the way these Mofi Priest lps were recorded even if it wasn't off the master tape. Quality gatefold packaging too.

Not good for the money, it sounds like the ESCA 5212 1990, Japanese CD, i checked the waveforms and the ESCA 5212 is more dynamic actually. Better go for an Og UK / USA or the Second Japanese with the Green Obi!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND, this is a 2011 remaster affected by excessive compression. Just because it plays louder does not mean better. Looking for natural and good sounding, then take : CK 35296, USA / CD 32075, Austria or Epic-Sony, ESCA 5212, Japan !
