tho i prefer the vinyl sound quality of this album, music is ON TOP -

I think it is a really good remaster and pressing. The disc is very well quality, extreme quite, absolut No surface noise, No clicks or pops. Very nice gatefold cover, the sound of mastering and pressing is nice. No shhhh or sibilance. Worth the money, u got u pay for. -
No surface noise on my copy, which I bought some 15 years ago, but only until now I get to listen to it because it was left at home. To my surprise its sound is terrible, no dynamics, no nuances and poor base quality. Obviously Rhino forgot how to press vinyl in the first decade of this century. My CD from the 90's sounds much much better...

For anyone curious about all the poor reviews of Ultra, the problem is with the whole concept of the album on vinyl. The album is over an hour long, with 31 minutes on side 1. Typically, 24 minutes is the maximum length record engineers aim for per side. As a result of the extreme runtime of Ultra, the grooves are very close together (causes the skipping with a worn needle), and are quite narrow (causes the reduced dynamic range). These problems are almost inevitable with this album.
The solution? A 2xLP press needs to be released. Until then, expect problems like this with any vinyl pressing you purchase. Buyer beware! -
haven't find any comments about the sleeve
here's a curious fact - on the sleeve, side with the lyrics, is a mistake. the name of a song "sister of night" is written AFTER the words from first verse, like it were the last line in lyrics for "useless".
is it a common mistake on vinyl "Ultra"? -
The sound is dynamic, detailed, every instrument/synth and singer's voice(s) can be clearly heard. Sounds good overall.
(I own/able listen to only this one CD press of ULTRA album. It is one of the best playing CDs in my collection.)
