Heartfelt songs, recorded as simplistic as one can. Best part of the record is the experience. My pressing sounds true to the original recording. Highly recommended
-
Mine also matches this release exactly, except for no RSD sticker/code. Maybe leftovers repackaged? Anyway, a great sounding pressing, nice and quiet which suits this album perfectly. Maybe slightly low on dynamics but there is nothing really required for that on this album.

My runouts match exactly, as does the text of the primary hype sticker, but no RSD reference anywhere and no code card included. Also, barcode on rear cover ends in 71 rather than 73.

Quiet vinyl… not a very sophisticated recording but doesn’t need to be to convey the emotion/art. A bit like an artist sketch on scrap paper. This was recorded on a simple four track tape recorder… not a high-end studio recording. Sound stage is narrow and bass is bloated. That said, this is about as good as this is gonna sound!

This is a great pressing, better than my original Lp . BUT what happened to the front of sleeve artwork? It’s awful, can’t even tell what I’m looking at! How hard is it to reproduce the original sleeve? Looks like they took a cd insert and blew it up to 12 inches.

Aside from the inevitable handful of quiet ticks, this thing is dead silent from the drop of the needle. It's phenomenal how quiet it is - crucial for this album. This is the version to own. Kudos to MPO for pressing this

Edited 6 years agoWow, so much better than the crap reissue I just sold back. With this album all I want is vinyl silence and for the few parts Bruce does to sound amazing. And this pressing delivers better than any I've heard. Can't comment on the remaster vs. the original in of dynamics of remaster, yadda yadda. That said, this version sounds full and clear and in your face on a good system. AND this has been darn quiet, no surface noise for the most part, during the quiet ages so far and that's what I want. My previous reissue, which I sold back, ruined the mood with tons of crackle. Highway Patrolman sounds divine despite a few bits of noise.
Tiny Notes
A few clicks and crackles on Mansion on the Hill. Highway Patrolman sound amazing, a few bits of noise, but this song, so heartbreaking and amazing in sound, delivers on this pressing.
Verdict
Highly recommended pressing.
Cleaned before listening with Audio Desk System Pro.
Caveat: I'm not a Bruce devotee. This is the only Bruce album I own but for some reason, I LOVE this one. Listening to another album next (Jackson C. Frank reissue) which is DEAD QUIET, so hearing the difference between the two, but still, this is the best Nebraska pressing I've heard. -
Best pressing of this album available. I've tried original pressings from US and Europe and they all had too much surface noise, which on this quiet record is intolerable. I'm sure there's quiet older pressings out there, but I never found one. Take the easy route. This record is quiet and sounds as great as any original!
