At the top is hard, there is even more difficult. With the album Let's Dance (1983) was David Bowie at the height of his fame, after that it's become less and less, mind-blowing projects like the industrial rock band Tin Machine. One thing you had to Bowie to hand, he repeated himself always never. Great was the surprise when Bowie in 2002 with a by his old buddy Tony Visconti produced album (Heathen) came, with which he blatantly reference to his sound of the beginning of the 1970s. On the successor Reality is that line continued. Bowie in 2003 is at his best when he's not too interesting trying to do (the monotonous Jonathan Richman-cover Pablo Picasso). More successful are the simply arranged gem Days and the obscure George Harrison-cover Try Some, Buy Some. Many patches in the history of rock and roll come over. Thus, the opener and first single New Killer Star clearly based on the tune of I Will Follow Him. Bowie has lost its relevance as a progressive pop musician but if he continues to the big ones include craftsman.
