Hopefully we get a good reissue this year, since it is the 40th anniversary. Same for both versions of Obsessed next year.

Edited 5 months agoLooking for a spare LP cover. I have the record, just need the cover. If anyone wants to part with just the cover, please let me know. I the Steamhammer record but I really don't care which cover it is. Thanks!

The sound of this record is really amazing, loud as hell, every instrument shines. Consciously raw, it feels like being in the rehearsal room listening to it alive. After forty years, it sounds like new... over-the-top black speed from the real good old days.

How is the sound quality of the 2016 re? I kinda wonder if its gonna sound that good with all songs on the same side.

Edited 7 years agoIt seems to be a common misconception that this EP was released in 1984, but all evidence and credible sources points to 1985 being the actual release year:
* This original first pressing by Devil's Game has "1985" printed on the labels as phonographic copyright date.
* The SPV distribution code 60-2120 is higher than, for instance, Destruction - Sentence Of Death EP (which was released in November 1984 and has distribution code 60-1838). This points to a 1985 release date.
* Earliest album reviews found are from Kerrang #91 (april 1985) and German version of Metal Hammer (03.09.1985).
* Books by credible music researchers also state 1985 as release year: M. Ahlers & C. Jacke's Perspectives on German Popular Music (2016), J. McIver's Extreme Metal II (2010), and D. Ekeroth's Swedish Death Metal (2008).
* Sources (unverified, but supposedly based on interviews with band ) claim the album was recorded in October 1984. SPV were not happy with the result, and the songs were scrapped until the band finally released them through Devil's Game instead, months later (i.e. 1985).
Current (wrong) release date found on Wikipedia and Metal Archives are fantasy dates (e.g. "May 5, 1984") with no sources, and clearly a result of edit wars and years of general internet confusion/misinformation. -
iI have this one on its first press, is exactly the same as posted in the pictures and it sounds absolutely beautiful. I haven not find the stamp 001 on the inner sleeve.
