I wonder why this one is so cheap? Thought by now a first edition would be worth more. Also couldnt find my exact version with my runout code for side c: m-804LP3-D5RS-7620-3-06B

I'm completely stymied by this one. My copy has sides 1, 2, 3 and 5 with PRC in the runout (indicating PRC Richmond pressing) and sides 4 and 6 have the MR in a circle (indicating Monarch pressing). I've checked all 21 versions of this compilation on Discogs (using filters "Vinyl," "Motown" & "U.S."). The single listing for PRM Richmond pressing has runouts/matrix that are close-ish, but the labels are significantly different from what I have. There are also two Monarch versions which match the labels EXACTLY, but the runouts/matrix aren't even close.

Really great compilation of the early Wonder stuff. I have all of the classic period lps, but don't necessarily want *all* of the early ones, so this is the perfect set to round out my Wonder collection on the early end.

Pressing: Sounds great. Classic Motown was well engineered, and these records are still played and talked about for a reason. Can't go wrong here.

Hi there, does anyone know if the "Looking Back" set comes with a color booklet? Thanks for any and all help that anyone can give me! :)

Sounds better than most of the other anthology series. Sounds great, in fact.

If you like Stevie Wonder's sound on vinyl, a mint copy of this album would seem mandatory. This Album is Stevie Wonder's entire early era in one handy little purchase. No messy purchasing or picking up all the 45's & old out of print LPs. Everything you need and so many sound memories, it is all here in one handy package. (Similar to all Motown "anthology" series)
Back in the days when the country was more segregated except for the music business, where Stevie's parade of hits had the same fan base and played on the same radio station as the Beatles. Everybody listened to the same radio and these two distinct hitmakers dominated like few others.
Without diverging too far into the mystery of how music has become more segregated at the same time society has progressed so far in the opposite direction...
Stevie Wonder and the Beatles shared another odd similarity. Both had two quite distinct musical periods.
Early Stevie and grown up Stevie, from Talking Book forward. The Beatles and the morph from Revolver to Sgt. Pepper.
Stevie Wonder fans as well as Beatles fans loved both eras.

This release was first called "Looking Back" in 1977. It's Title was later changed to "Anthology", but it is the same 3 LP Set release.
