Effing amazing pressing and content. You could give this dude an empty can of sardines and a blown out work boot and he’d turn it into a masterpiece. Standing ovation for the folks over at IA.

Edited 4 months agoMaybe unintentionally opener ‚Freakadelic‘ is very much a jazz-combo version of FUTIQUEs classic ‚From the soundtrack of: breakfast with a gun‘ from 1997.

Edited 5 months agoDid this version come with "Gatefold jacket with an IARC obi strip and poly-lined printed company inner sleeves" but just on black vinyl? That's what I've got anyway, but not sure if that is its own (new) variant or just this one? (EDIT: I guess its this version - I have edited the version's description to make that a bit clearer, and added pics of the OBI etc.)

Edited 4 months agoA very late addition to the best of 2024 and what an addition. This is magnificent music. It never tires (though the bass/drums combo on Freakadilic could have used a tiny bit more variation in the first main part). Love the ad libs also. I guess they are Anna’s (she’s such a good musician)? It adds so much to the obvious pleasure the musicians had, you can hear it in the music and the background sounds add to it.

And, again, another great by IARC. So much fun and relaxation to listen to these IARC core musicians. The Pallas pressing is quite okay except for many little ticks (despite multiple ultrasonic cleaning).

This record is an absolute gem. The recording is phenomenal and so raw. It's a cliché but it really sounds like the musicians are right I front of you. Outstanding
