There is a low-level buzzing sound that comes and goes in several tracks in the left channel, very noticeable on the FLAC rip of my CD. I'm getting it on multiple playback devices plus the Spotify stream so not just my equipment. I would assume this is less noticeable on vinyl as our analog reviewers on the site would be in a state of vitriolic bloodlust if they were hearing it; all reviews of the LP seem to be positive.
I haven't played back the CD directly yet but the distracting buzz is unfortunate. The album quality itself is outstanding otherwise. It may not be as noticeable on speakers but is very distracting on headphones. I have not checked the liner notes to see if a recording issue is mentioned as the cause rather than the mastering for this release; Elemental is generally very thorough with these annual Evans releases so I can't imagine they would have missed an error like this if it wasn't in the source material itself.
