Have no idea why I waited to grab this one. Wonderful sound, swingin' arrangements, and Hawk and Ben are in great tone. There dual lines are wonderful!

Prensado super silencioso, calidad de sonido magnifica y una interpretación buenísima. Indispensable en una colección de jazz.

A BIG upgrade on the 2019 Verve reissue in of pressing and sonics but loses a little smidge of life and dynamics vs the 2x45rpm cut. However this is the best value of the three and if i didnt have the AP45 and only had this id be more than happy not to pursue the AP45 at all. An excellent reissue in every regard and one of my top 10 jazz records of all time.... makes the recording decisions of Van Gelder sound flat and weak!

Stunning. I never had the Classic Records pressing, but since they used the same parts, I can’t imagine it being any better. I love this album and this is the best it’s sounded. The bottom end and clarity and the wide stereo is just perfect. Man, this is a great pressing.

The Classic legacy lives on. I would like to hear what BG now or one from the younger generation/s could do with the tapes, though!
-
Absolutely killer sounding! The dynamics are incredibly balanced and this is one of the best sounding records I've heard in a while. Ryan Smith does it again!

Edited one year agoI’ve owned a digital of this for ages but my goodness this record is like night and day in comparison.
