Just compared to the 2011 pressing. This blows it out the water. Vocals are clearer, the soundstage is wider and the high end is super crisp. Highly recommend if you can find for a reasonable price.

As mentioned below, very punchy and dynamic. This is the best sounding version i have heard, when i played it, it almost blew off my neighbours…

Wow…..best sounding studio pressing of Pearl Jam I have ever heard. So punchy, dynamic and clear. Cut so hot too, my speakers are bouncing like never before! Must have pressing

The detail in the percussion, drums and bottom end is outstanding. I'm really enjoying this pressing.

Edited one year agoThe mastering is great without question, the pressing quality really isn't though. And it's not just the usual surface noise, because the discs aren't in poly-lined inners and propably have been shaken around in the paper inners during shipping - which is also very annoying, why won't labels stop that, especially for such an expensive pressing? It's also that both discs are warped, have some wooshing sound when it's quiet and are pressed slightly off-center. You can't even blame that on the band/label, they chose RTI as the pressing plant, who are able to produce great quality. If they care, what they clearly didn't here.
[edit] Looks like it wasn't pressed at RTI, see Levi's response below. -
First words that come to mind is that this pressing has a great “bite”. The drums and bass really kick ass and nicely match the aggression on some key tracks like Go, Animal and RVM. Meanwhile Indifference sounds better than ever - best album closer in the whole catalog!
-
Wow! Amazing sound! This is the best pressing ive heard of this by a mile. Slight warp to discs as others have mentioned but doesn't affect play so no worries.

Honest question, what makes this a $170+ album? I understand there’s gouging on new releases, but this seems quite high for a 30th anniversary. It’s a $65 vinyl.
