Let's make this review quick and to the point.
The verdict is in. A just sonicly awful pressing. Narrow and lifeless with a compressed soundstage.
Complete imo.
SMH. -
For my tears, it’s a poor, pressing. Way too much background noise in between songs and a few pops here and there. What do you want to hear I listening to great music
-
Edited 2 years agoAnyone who says this sounds great has probably never heard original PJ vinyl pressings or even the original CDs. The sound on this is atrocious. Compressed, lifeless, muddy dreck. Sounds like a low quality mp3 stream.
Listened to on a Pro-Ject X2 w/Sumiko Moonstone. -

to my ears, the cymbols seem really....... compressed? I can't put my finger on it. Maybe that's how it was on the original recording though.
-
Record 2 had a very bad warp. It played through ok though. I’ll probably return this and hope for a better copy. Save for the warp, this is a pretty solid release, dynamics and all.
-
Indie record stores have the black vinyl version , and the price jumped to 59.99 per 2 record set. Scalpers prices are going to go up. Get these while you can at the prices d today 3/30/22

Cleaned C/D a few times, and can't get rid of the pops - not to mention a chip on the edge.
A/B sounds great. But I'll be sending this back to TC -
Really solid sound quality wise. I absolutely had to enlarge the holes a bit to get it to fit properly on the spindle. Pick it up before the assholes start buying them to flip them.
-
My records weren't all that warped and sound fairly dynamic if not a bit icy. However, both records had some of the vinyl material covering the holes, so I had to swivel it out with a pencil so I can fit it into my spindle. Even with that, it's still a really tight fit and hard to take in or out. It seems like the consensus is that the quality control on this release is pretty lackluster.
