Sounds perfect to me, punchy & quite loud. I had the original cd back in the day but sold it a long time ago. Cannot figure out how this could sound bad on any equipment really?
I use a €2000 middle of the road setup (i guess compared to others on Discogs anyways) , and this f-ing shreds.. Bought 3 more of these reissues and i will be extremely pleased if they sound as good as this, this was the first i listened to. -
Great reissue! Personally, I hear no flaws in this pressing besides the inherent mix and production this EP has always had. I use a RT85 turntable and it sounds flawless on it. It is loud, punchy, and all the lead guitars cut through the intense chainsaw riffing cleanly. Vocals are spot on, drums are super punchy and sound better than ever before on here. Zero distortion from my copy. I feel that maybe some people are hearing the mix itself. It’s always been an intense and raw listen, but not nearly as bad as most people complain about. From my experience, I would not change a thing about the sound of this press. Everything is as it should sound and it is all quality. Packaging is great as well!

I was in two minds after reading negative reviews. I took the plunge and at least my copy sounds as it should, within the limitations of the original recording explained by others here. Dismember fans will enjoy this must-have.

I have the red with black splatter ( release) and have A/B tested it against the 1992 original vinyl. The 2023 red with black splatter is slightly quieter and the drums are much improved, sounding clear and powerful. The original is very loud and distorted and the drums mushy. The reissue is still distorted but if I want to listen to this EP on vinyl I would probably lean to the new pressing. It is important to realise that the original recording has a dynamic range of between 4 and 8 and that is terrible. No remastering will improve that. It will always sound blitzed. It is what it is. Embrace it or don’t listen.

Something is pretty much off with that pressing, too much brick walled ! I cant recall the sound of cd re issues but the original vinyl pressing sounds way better and more balanced! Not that awful though

This EP has always sounded overdistorted and not-well-produced so keep that in mind with this press 'cause despite that being the case, this still sounds really solid

OHHH Stay Away and Very Careful with MERCHBAR Never shipped My Order. Bad store stay away..
No album, .. I order This Copy and Still Waiting/.,.. is almost 2 Weeks and No album, Stay Away , They are Posting that they have them available, But What happened with My Order, Becareful... -
There is some click every spin in the beginning of side A. Otherwise I don't see any problems with my copy. For me it's a keeper. But I do not own any original pressing to check quality of first pressing.

Ridiculous. Worst sound I've heard on a reissue for a long time. Whats the use if you don't give it a soft remaster or some audiophile treatment... Clipping, brickwalling... abysmal. Gets returned asap.
