Slight warp but doesn't affect the sound. The surface of the vinyl doesn't look that pretty, but it plays quietly the whole way through. Actually sounds very good. Not AAA? I could care less! Delivers the goods for a fair price.

flat and sounds good, but has a lot of traces. looks like a 2nd hand record. quality control nowadays soo bad....not the first sealed record i was disappointed when opening it.

Edited one year agoHappy to have a copy of this album. The LP is flat and the sound quality is good. Given the flimsy cover material/construction and paper inner sleeve, this is a bit over priced though.

Not gonna rave about the music because if you read this you know what’s it all about.
I agree with most reviewers here below. Cardboard gatefold sleeve and print, nothing wrong. Ok it’s not the glossy and thick cardboard but is very descent.
Record is unfortunately a bit warped but plays fine.
Soundwise: Clear and great instrument separation. Wide soundstage but not so much depth. Wondering if the og has more..? Maybe it’s the digital master..dunno.
All in all; nice record for 25 euro! -

I wanted this album and did not get the previous reissue that was AAA cut, now costs are too high.
The vinyl is very good, but slight warp that does not affect play. I do not like any Abbey Road cut albums and I typically stay away from them, but I wanted a copy of it. It is good, but not great. Why they cut this great album in digital source is beyond me. -
Purchased from Verve Center Store; copy arrived in good shape. Overall decent package for an affordable release. I never heard this before (except to preview before buying) and wow! It's an album length jam session. Crazy unrelenting rhythm, horns, piano, etc. floating in and out around it... wow! Maintaining it's frenetic pace throughout... it's essentially a free jazz spiritual experience akin to a rave.
PS: Audio quality reflects the era recorded, but still sounds great! No complaints. -
Next to no surface noise on my copy. As mentioned by others great image/instrument seperation and soundstage width but not much depth. I also feel it lacks dynamic punch and despite all instruments seperated nicely this results in the recording getting muddled at times and not helped by the cacophony of free jazz. Still an enjoyable listen and must have for Pharoah/Free Jazz and Improvisation fans.

Edited one year agoPerfectly flat, clean and deadsilent after one round on the Okki Nokki. No other presses to compare it to, and it’s obviously not an audiophile recording, but it sounds great to my ears. Very happy with this acquisition;) (Clearaudio Concept with MC - Clearaudio pre - NAD - Bowers & Wilkins 603 S2’s)

Edited one year agoThin and cheap cardboard sleeve. Paper sleeve so yup: paper scuffs! A small warp, distortion on the trumpets and harmonium. And of course no analog transfer. Still asking a Tone Poet price for this piece of crap. Third Man you should be ashamed of yourselves. This was my last buy from them anyway.
