Edited 13 years agoSince 1993, Palepoli has became one of my all-time favorite Italian prog albums. If it's now 2011 and I enjoy it just as much as I did in '93, it really deserves to be on my top list. The album is not an easy listen but I really dig the aggressive guitar ages, with great Jethro Tull-like flutes from Elio D'Anna, and those mellow, trippy Mellotron ages, Mellotron provided by vocalist Lino Vairetti. The album contains three extended cuts that play together as a whole. The Japanese CD reissue on Archangelo's European Rock Collection includes a bonus cut that plays the opening part of "Oro Caldo" but includes themes from Milano Calibro 9 in reverse. I also own the original LP on Fonit that does not include this. If you don't mind your prog on the hard side, this is a great album to get.
