Although not versed in Italian its rather inconsequential. The music here is probably the apex of technical and melodic virtuosity of all the Italian progressive I have personally heard in all my years of "proging" about. I have yet to hear another Italian band of the early 1970s who had this much talent and creative drive.
The music is dynamic with lots of soft interludes followed by dynamic uproars of Moogs, mellotrons, percussion and bass. Influences are naturally European you can hear baroque as well as jazz and rock and roll elements but there is never too much temptation to mimic atypical rock and a fine balance is held.
The singer has a mid range voice that sits perfect in the overall mix and one can hear even without the linguistic knowledge what he is trying to convey just by the tone of his voice. Music is poetic, anthem-ic and just plain magnificent. A go to in my progressive rock library.
