How do you distinguish a first press with the later presses on warp when it's still sealed?

Come On You Slags! samples a line of dialogue ("not my idea of a fantasy, especially right now") from this 1981 porn film https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0178018/

I was so stoked to find a nice OG UK pressing of this at a local record store in California. It’s an absolute bloody masterpiece and it sounds absolutely incredible. They had pretty much every Aphex Twin/Richard D James/AFX album and EP but I chose to start my collection with this one. I’m very glad I did. It’s positively mesmerizing. I knew little of his work and wanted to dip my toes in…let’s just say this has hooked me…I’m after a lot more of his stuff now, as well as Squarepusher, Boards of Canada and Autechre.

I haven’t heard the reissues so I can’t comment on those but again, this pressing to me sounds fabulous.

A wholly underrated album imo! You can hear many of the samples he uses later in his work here as if in their infancy. So good!

Yeah, probably the best Richard D. James album ever to date if you include the Ventolin & Donkey Rhubarb EP. This was the album of the transition. Richard still used analog equipment to compose, before using computers. Otherwise, 1994-1995 was two fantastic years for Warp's Artists such as AFX, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Disjecta, Drexciya, Elecktroids, LFO, Seefeel, Speedy J … and for electronic music in general. This album reflects this great period.

This is the Best Aphex Twin album ever, I don't give a shit what anyone else thinks. This is, for me, the album that is the sole reason he got fame- Just perfect Experimental, Ambient Techno, mixed with Noisy landscapes on tracks like "Ventolin" And plus some of the best beats (IMO) in any AFX release is in this album, just completely silly and bonkers, without resorting to drill and bass exercise For the fact that the beats can make you dizzy even without the crazy double-time beat programming You GOT TO hand Richard some credit. This Album also has the best Afx melodies and ambient basslines you'll ever encounuter, Imo. Every single one of the tracks including the bizarre noisy Ventolin is amazingly fun and makes your brain focus on the music first and foremost, instead of the dancing. Its the DEFINITE Braindance album ever. 5/5 Stars

Im still convinced that Acrid Avid Jam Shred is pressed up at the wrong speed. Makes more sense at 45rpm!

If you never where 15 and hated school you'll maybe not feel the hymnic character of 'Alberto Balsam'. For me it really was a kind of balsam during that time.

                  Thank you Rich!

Probably the quintessential idm full length release of all time. In 1995 I just got this and I decided to play it in my friends car on the way to manhattan beach in California. My friend wasn't into electronic music and he just got Infiniti kappa set of mids and highs in his car which at the time were the most metallic sounding car speakers out at the moment. Probably not the ideal music for a trip to the sunny beach but my friend soaked up the ear piercing abrasiveness that is Richard d James and even though he didnt really probably understand what he was hearing he did not dare turn it off during the hour ride. His girlfriend i do had an ear ache while she sat in the back like a bitch.

Waxen Pith is probably my favorite track on the album. Mookid probobly my favorite also depending on my mood. Quiite a few excellent tracks and plenty of memorable melodies found throughout this cd. It's really hard to think of any electronic music cd that could really top this from a critics view. Perfect blend of meloncholly and aggressiveness. Richard D James became a legend and a well deserved genius during this time. Post this is another story. A cd that would excite and turn any non electronic music fan into one.

An ingenious variedly album. Richard D. James makes experiments with sound and rhythms with a little pop appeal in it (all tracks are potential blueprints!). There is a hidden voice in track D2, can you hear it?
