Edited 11 days agoWhat does 'stereo' mean in the format description and why is not in the 2022 version? I assume they're all stereo. -
Edited 15 days agoDebatably a record that is less bound to it's time than Selected Ambient Works 85 - 92 and an ending of sorts. Richard D. James lost himself in aimless noodling after this album and became a caricature of himself. One could say that was always sort of what he set out to do, but i would say he parodied himself now and again, which is something completely different and ended up in occasional hilarious results (check out Elephant Song (track 1) on Analogue Bubblebath 4). Where and if James rehabilitated himself again is open to discussion, but apart from the subversive Windowlicker, i stopped caring. -
Anyone know how this compares with the 2022 or 2012 pressings? -
How do you distinguish a first press with the later presses on warp when it's still sealed?

Had this pressing for a while now - it's good quality! Kind of surreal to hear this in such an analogue format but it does shine. The mixing is quite good here, I was impressed with the dynamics. Worth picking up for sure. -

Già dai tempi dell’acclamato brano Didgeridoo è riuscito a sfuggire alla catalogazione presentandosi come qualcosa di unico e mettendo d’accordo un pubblico tanto eterogeneo quanto entusiasta.
Anche questo lavoro del 1995 sembra voler continuare quel processo di cancellazione dei confini tra musica dance e rock, tra musica seria e pop creando un’eclettica miscela di sonorità senza alcun filo conduttore e lasciando tutto coscientemente slegato.
La capacità di manipolazione di AT mette ogni volta in discussione i limiti delle diverse categorie musicali ed ad imporci diverse forme di interpretazione della sua musica. -

sounds pretty damn great on biovinyl, no complaints from me here, punchy bass and nice sound. ventolin has never sounded better -
