A decade after Venetian Snares, End, Bong-Ra and so on it's hard to get impressed with something within the sphere of Breakcore, I mean what else can you add to this closed equation? It's all about speed and rhythm, there's no space for harmonies or lyricism in here just exploit rhythm and velocity till its limit and this can be reached far fast you know? Only other thing you can do it's adding more effects, tricks and details as result of the technological improvement in the last decade, better synths and samplers and whatnot. But after all that nothing else can be done without walking in already walked paths. Breakcore is a very narrow genre. After a while everything gets pretty similar

Now Igorrr adds some of the aforementioned characteristics. As result of the apparition more advanced synths and samplers and computer programs he can forcefully push the genre beyond the limit and he is successful into that, for that he added the not so new term of "baroque" to his style. A confetti instrumentation made of a myriad little pieces that get subrepticiously introduced in between the characteristic chaos of rhythm. Little accordion lines, glitchy violins and cellos, fast paced choruses, screams and some chopped metal riffs.

Igorrr it's archetypal breakcore with metal excerpts and a rich palette of instruments. But in breakcore as said before the rhythm is all, so all these things are only accessory, they are not even accompaniment but effects.

This band may seem awesome to someone who just got into the genre. There's nothing quite impressive here. Nothing that we have not heard before in some way or the other. Rhythmical mayhem with a portion of metal riffing. It was done before and after. For me one of the best albums ever in that regard is Dj Skull Vomit "Ritual Glow", full speed breakcore with metal riffing in a very cut bone production.

This album is good. In fact it's very well produced and even adds a little something to an already saturated genre but for me it fails to amaze me. It's just breakcore with a twist. With Savage Sinusoid things will change drastically as he will push metal more straightforward and create a great alliance.

This album has been the flavour of the week since I discovered it months ago. I adore the ADHD-like approach to buildups and song structures. It's an excellent mix of styles, intensities and moods. I also like that there's no filler, it works and keeps working.
On one hand I wish there was more like this, on the other hand that would mean I'd have less time to listen to this release and that would be a hell of a shame. Highly recommended.
