Awesome pressing. I’ve tried the MOFi (muddy) and Abbey Road half speed (also unsatisfactory). This is incredible: deep bass and clear highs. Sister Morphine is chilling!

I've owned a copy of this pressing for ages but hadn't really played it. I recently bought the Abbey Road Half Speed Remaster and gave that a listen. Then I played this one and the difference is astounding. I gave the Abbey Road version away

This '79 Japanese edition sounds so much better than any other version I've heard, analog or digital. A lot of other pressings sound so bad, I thought I might never find a version that sounded good. Then this arrived in the mail from Japan and I finally heard this album the way I always knew it COULD sound. Can't You Hear Me Knocking sounds like a private Stones concert in my living room. So intimate sounding. The whole album, from this pressing, gets toes tapping and bodies moving.

I bought this at RECOFAN in Shibuya, Tokyo in 2006 probably. At 1000 yen. Without obi and lyric sheet.
With YKK zipper and OIS.
I did't realize the sound quality is good...

Edited 4 years agoIf you can find one of these, buy it. Richly detailed with crystal clear instrument separation. Alive and vital. Knocks the 2020 half speed remaster out of the park

Edited 6 years agoThis is the most vibrant, detailed, yet still warm and rich version that i have heard. Not many editions sound good across all the tracks on Sticky Fingers. This one is rivetting from start to finish. Definitely a keeper!

I just bought a NM/NM copy of this from a guy I know I can trust, based on previous experiences. I am excited. I have a noisy Monarch, and the SHM SACD, and I used to have the MFSL, which never impressed me at all.
