I have a promo copy of this pressing. Stamped in gold on rear top right corner with the number 4120 above promo stamp. Can anyone shed any more light on this?

My version matches everything about this release, but has different labels from the photos. The labels on mine are just blue with "CBS ASSOCIATED RECORDS" across the top curve, and no "Jet" logo anywhere. Definitely a US Carrollton pressing; all the matrix numbers and runouts match. Perhaps just an older label?

Echoing the other comments…this does indeed sound fantastic and the performances are outstanding. Essential Ozzy if you’re a fan and as someone else said it is absolutely the live album Sabbath should’ve made when Ozzy was in the band. I never tire of spinning this extremely loud.

Great record, extremely impressive for the time it was recorded less the ones done in studio as Juvat270 pointed out. What is interesting about my copy is that side A has a blank white label that is off center. Sides B, C and D all have the standard Jet label. I'm not seeing any notes on this unless I've over looked it. Does anyone out there have any information on this strange misprinted version?

Probably the album that made me like Heavy Metal now. Sound is incredible on mine and wow, what an experience for someone who’s not that much into metal and Heavy Rock. I REALLY recommend it !

Edited 3 years agoIf you want the absolute best sounding Black Sabbath live album, here it is. But wait, isn't this Ozzy Osbourne and his solo band? Yes it is. Its the live album Black Sabbath should have released when Ozzy was still a member of the band. This is, first of all, one of the best sounding live recordings I've ever heard. Granted "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and two other songs on this record were recorded in the studio with the sound of the audience added. But regardless, Ozzy's solo band is firing on all eight cylinders and delivers note perfect versions of the Sabbath classics . Ozzy himself sounds better on this then he ever did when he was a member of Black Sabbath. Which is a pretty remarkable feat considering how zonked he was on drugs and alcohol when they recorded it. Not bad when you consider that this album was just a contractual obligation. Its a shame though this has never gotten a repress.
Is it essential Ozzy? I'm tempted to say yes, just for the album cover alone. I love the black, red, and yellow color scheme and its got that satanic/occult vibe that was prevalent in early 80s heavy metal. And of course, how can you not love that shot of Ozzy on the cover. But if I'm being objectively honest and given the relative rarity of this album on vinyl, I would say no, not essential, but highly recommended if you come across a copy in decent shape.

Mine has a different matrix/runout, but the same catalog numbers... Should I create a new release for it?
