Edited 3 years agoThe extended "Special Dance Mix" has to be among the best showcases of a 12 mix ever, as it keeps all the hallmarks of the original yet turns a ballad into a dance floor stormer. I was mesmerized when I first heard it during the winter of 84/85, I got schooled in what variations on a theme mean.

This is one of those records you just have to hear. Proof if it were ever needed, that synths are not cold, they can be emotive aswell. This was so far ahead of its time, its not even funny. Superb record and possibly one of the best pop records ever made.

Does anyone know of a techno remix of Forever Young? A DJ friend found an mp3 in the 00's labelled as (Techno Mix) that clocks in at around 7:28. It's a great mix, but I can't find any release here that matches. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'd love to find it but don't know if it was DJ-only, unofficial remix, or something else! Anyone know?
