Miles screwed up on the L/R balance but apart from that and the slightly soft overall sonics compared to my original UK Strawberry it's way more dynamic and sounds more involving because of this.
    Shame about those levels Miles!

How does this pressing compare to this original Japanese pressing?

Perfectly stunning. Japan sounds great at 45 RPM! No complaints.

I’m grateful to report that my copy sounds amazing. I don’t have the repetitive click reported by others at the beginning of Burning Bridges. My copy sounds clear and dynamic throughout.

Sound wise my copy was hard to judge as both lp’s were badly warped, I ordered it again and had the same issue. I am going to try for a single disc version instead.

Got my copy for under 15 quid (including p&p) last week. Second-hand, but in almost perfect condition. The mastering is fantastic. Extremely clear, and so little surface noise. Pleasantly surprised

Like all new vinyl an Ultrasonic clean essential . Pressing is very good . No major issues . This album was meant to be played at 45 RPM. The vibrancy is stunning . I've compared it to my first pressing and the treble is ever so slight smoother. The rhythm section on this album is awesome and drum and baselines are strong and at the front which if you ever saw Japan live was the way it was meant to be

No it’s perfectly perfect. A beautiful thing as it was originally

Unfortunately I have to the chorus of those who think this pressing is pretty dreadful. Like others, I found the second side of the first disc (Burning Bridges) has rotation noise on the intro, lots of loud clicks and terrible distortion throughout. Retailer kindly sent a replacement disc but that was exactly the same. Sound quality on the remainder of the album is OK but not amazing.

Mine arrived this morning. Sound quality is excellent. My brother's is in a different sleeve to this version. It has a wide black border and the band name and album title across the top, like the original version. But Sylvian is looking down to his left, instead of right, (a couple of cd's and sacd I think have the same cover).
