Sadly one of the worst pressings I have bought in a long time. Scratched on side B and full of pops and crackles even after a thorough cleaning. I only have a SpinCare cleaner so perhaps one of those fancy sonic cleaners would help. Sad since the music is awesome and I love this album. Even more sad is I did not listen to it before the return window closed with everyone's favourite (not) online seller. #%#&#(# !!!!

Does anyone know what are the inner sleeves used here? I like them a lot (more than the MoFi I guess) and I'd be happy to buy such for my other records.

At the risk of sounding like an audiophile brat:

-pro’s: the noise floor almost adds to the music.

-con’s: if you know the music from a cd, or digital file, the noise floor is hard to ignore. It is ever present.
The pressing is quiet, so the hiss is there even in the loud parts. I have a lot of records, not a crazy large collection, but a lot. This is one of the noisiest records I own.

Pro’s pt. 2: see the previous pro. The music is not harmed by the hiss and crackle. It is constant, so it is less noticeable than sounds going in and out. Think of it as a slightly “warmer”, or “whatever works for you” pressing. It sounds good overall and I’m happy to own it. If they ever remaster it properly, I’d buy in a second.

I’m not an audiophile, it just is so obvious when you listen to it that I am surprised people seem polarized by it.

My pressing sounds great! However, the label is misaligned on Side B. Gawd damn it! Now I have to take it back to the store and get my money back. Why can't etc, etc, and QA, etc, etc, blah, blah! lol. ;) No really, I'm cool. I don't care. I would like the first press though because I when it was being played among friends. This is a good copy. It doesn't suck. Don't listen to the picky spoiled "audiophile" brats in the reviews. It doesn't suck. It's awesome. :)

Lot of surface noise on this pressing. After ing the anti-static brush few times the noise decreased a bit. Overall, very dynamic record and really good music.
Nothing more to say about the packaging. It’s just perfect.

Just be sure to give it a good clean or remove static.

Update: after a while the clicks and pops were almost gone. There’s still a slight surface noise, but nothing that distracts from the music. In some moments is almost unnoticeable.

When I first bought this and put it on I was highly disappointed - disc was smudgy and it played super crackly/noisy. But I just listened it today like 5 months later for the third or fourth time, and I noticed most of the noise is gone. I think it was just highly static-y, and once I gave it a good amount of brushdowns and plays, and let it sit in anti-static sleeves for a while, all of the static electricity went away. Now it sounds pretty good! There is still a small amount of background noise, but it's barely noticeable.

Other than that, the packaging is great. I love that there's a little spot to write your name, like there is on the CD's packaging. The music itself is also fantastic (obviously), my favorite Godspeed album.

So, I'd say don't shy away from buying this pressing, just make sure you give it some time to lose its static charge.

I think one of the problems with this pressing is how quiet it was cut. Compared to the RTI pressing, this one has to be cranked up a lot which doesn't pair well with the frequent audible defects present (thanks Microforun), as well as reveal more preamp buzz.

The mastering is about the same, although I think the EQ was given a bit of a scoop, the bass is noticeably more boomy and the highs have more clarity.

I wish Constellation would commit to making the vinyl itself quality. They do packaging well, but do the music itself a disservice.

clicks and pops? Need to invest in a ultrasonic cleaner and that will get rid of clicks and pops 9 out of 10 times in my experience since i've bought mine. I now clean everything especially new records because some of these pressing plants must have sandy floors or something its ridiculous especially for the $$$ we all are spending. That being said a good cleaning and this pressing comes alive!!!!!!!!
