As usual Bjork's music is otherworldly. I feel like I am on an alien world or other universe not ours when listening to this album.

i saw somebody else call this album atmospheric and that is probably the best way to describe it. i have played it many settings and it has always filled the space. the production side compliments björk beautifully where as the vocal side exaggerates the theme in all the ways you would want to.

If you know Bjork's music, you know to expect the unexpected. Stands on it's own in her catalog. Completely and totally unique. Strangely relaxing and atmospheric.

how is the courtship/losss transition handled here with the re-ordered tracklist on vinyl? it's one of my favorite track transitions of all time

Agreed - Utopia is produced beautifully on vinyl, as are the three album singles. Every detail is catered to perfection: Bjork's voice, the pure brilliance of the music, high music production, cover art and vinyl colour. The four x vinyl Utopia set is a must-have in my opinion. It's one of the best examples of "getting it right" I have bought.

It's strange / interesting what some have pointed out about Bjork's past vinyl production. Apart from a few highly-collectible examples, which are now too expensive, many have commented on vinyl problems. Generally, I've found certain INDIE (!!!) bands / labels are consistently produced well and I've taken it to mean a small company can have better control and perhaps they care more. (So, what's up One Little Indian?)

I'm glad a high standard is achieved for Utopia. One Little Indian got it right. Bjork's artistry in music - quiet bits, high notes, contrast in instruments - demands attentive production. This leaves the rest of Bjork's music crying out to be properly produced on vinyl.

This is a fantastic album! Listeners who missed the beauty of Vespertine will find a multitude of great arrangements on Utopia, comfortably weaving in Björk's trademark vocals, this time backed by a beautiful woodwind (flute) ensemble - a production highlight.

The sonic exploration in the albums that followed Vespertine is present, but Utopia has much less of e.g. Medúlla or Volta's art-for-art's-sake vibe. If Vulnicura was a little too dark and personal, Utopia is just as thick with sentiment but sounds resolved and looking forward. Beautiful, and bears repeated listening.

there is a huge problem with björk - sitting in an ivory tower and thinking she is the personalisation of "art". mrs. guðmundsdóttir...try to find yourself. come back home. i guess you know where to find the spirit. otherwise get old and die (in an artificial way!)

She lied to us! This is not Utopia - this is boredom monotony second time in a row... :/
