Received new runout variant on side A (A3 instead of A1 or B1)
Side A: BH87203-01 A3 HL 5753757
Side B: BH87203-01 B1 HL 5753757 -
Sounds pretty good. Thankfully it was pressed at Optimal, because Back To Black issues some pretty pedestrian sounding records.

This German press is really perfect, and the mastering is spot on. Flat, quiet, nice wide soundstage, great balance between vocals and instruments. Bottom end is house shaking great, and drums, tambourine all sound nice and crisp. Just a beautiful pressing.

Incredible sound. Feels like they’re playing right in front of you. Vocals balanced perfectly to instruments. Really good pressing here.

I had the 2022 US version and bought this version because I wasn’t happy with the US version - so glad I did. Sound is much better - vocals shine and instrumentation is much clearer. Will be getting rid of US version!

Not sure what’s going on here; the pressing is louder than the Plain Recordings 2015, but the remaster is really questionable. The guitars are low in the mix (not what you want for this record), the vocals are way louder than everything else, and there’s some kind of echo specifically on the drums that’s way out of proportion to the other instruments, breaks the illusion of musicians playing in the same room. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but the Plain Recordings 2015 at least sounds like the record I know and love, even if it’s mastered way too quiet. Disappointing. -

I have the German pressing, and it's fine, nothing more. I had this initially on CD when it came out and have played it extensively; and so I thought that moving to vinyl might bring out some warmth or detailing or anything -- and it doesn't. Not one whit. It sounds exactly the same as my CD. Perhaps one day there'll be a remaster, or something that is better than this. So if you have the CD, don't bother with this vinyl. -
absolutely perfect .. if it isnt the one pressed in like this one then avoid as in my experience the others are pressed terribly!
-
Just got this EU pressing and man it sounds beautiful. The soundstage, the vocals, the bass are all amazing. Like others have said, if every record sounded this way, there would be no need for audiophiles.
