Ayla – Ayla

One of the top ten trance remixes made out of one of the 20 best trance original tracks ... Ayla original is on my top 10 but its a tough and personal taste...

Worth picking this version up for the Space Brothers Meet Sacha Collisson Remix which never made the cut for the full retail release on Positiva. A cracking remix from the ever reliable Space Brothers that builds and flows well and always reminds me what a golden period 1998/99 was for Trance music.

Got reminded of this tune on twitter, gotta love the twitter trance community for keeping tracks like this alive. It's a stone cold classic, and this is definitely the version to own, all 3 versions are killer. The Taucher mix is the main one that's everywhere, but the veracocha mix is strong, as well as the Tandu version. Must have in any collection.

The Veracocha remix is the one most people think of (I think), full of that late '90s progressive trance exuberance. I the main breakdown and release section would always get trance-room crowds fist-pumping.

To me, though, the more interesting version in retrospect is the Pronti & Kalmani version, though there is a notable asterisk with that. To wit, the ing sections of the Pronti & Kalmani remix (i.e., the intro, section between the melodic parts, and outro) are fantastic---a bit mysterious, brooding, and almost melancholic, with a delightful little acid curl that fits the overall tone perfectly. BUT, the asterisk is that the main melody breakdown and release is very saccharine and, frankly, "cheesy" (as we used to say). Honestly, if the happy-melody part was excised, this would be an all-time trance classic to my ears and brain. But it is ittedly dragged down quite a bit by the melodic section, at least as it sounds now in 2020.

The original and the Veracocha Remix are top. The latter was dropped all the time during the late-night peaks of the parties I used to go to.

This Track owns not without Reason absolute Classic's Status.With his slightly monotonous and hypnotic Rhythms kidnaps it to another Sphere. One will hear the timeless Masterpiece sure still in ten Years. Ambience is like the second Part of the Original Mixes. He has the same Rhythm, but is held even quieter. Many Remixes were produced of Ayla. The best known is the Dj Taucher Remix, which was even more Successful than the Original.In of the Success of Ayla produced Dj Tandu even other Titles under this Pseudonym. Indeed, not with comparable Result.

Sorry but this has to be a one line comment. If you have never heard this tune then it's a must. It transports you to another level altogether. Out of this world.
