I believe this record samples David Jason as Mr. Toad from The wind in the willows. "let it rip"

this record would be much better with a proper beats-bass arrangement - this lazy beat gap after the intro ...??? infantility - destroying all the good ideas of the track

Jens mahlstedt marked the year 94 with "loops & tings", the tube of the year that convinced by its melody, conceived with sounds of violins and a devastating tempo. he was No. 1 in and spain.
A piece that accelerates and boils more than one raver before exploding on several haunting notes that come with a galloping pace.
A clever trance whose sounds can be broken down into several types of listening.
Let us that in its time this piece catalyzed so much energy that it evoked the idea of a "trance nation" !

Loops & Tings was played at every rave and in every club in 1993 and even beginning 1994. It was something new at that time; fast and dreamy at the same time. It has a catchy meloday with nice piano parts. This track was pressed and repressed on numerous labels and offers a wide range of good remixes.
I prefer the classic Remix and Fruit Loops Remix. Both mixes pack the energy of 90s hardtrace. Loops & Tings mixed with Infrequent Oscillation's Burning Phibes is a match made in heaven.

I seeing this in the record stores back in the day and being payed at every single rave until it was payed to death. Not my favourite track by any stretch. If i were to name a track that was a defining moment in trance i would give it to Caspar Pounds remix of "two full moons & a trout or Sunday club remix of Kaleidoscope by 'art of trance". but then again, music is all in the ears of the beholder, while this tune isn't one i would quote as being a 90's classic others would.

OK, Jarren (the poster below) is right, this is a classic...A 'Classic' pile of dog Shite! Sure, music is a matter of taste, so put that dog shite down and get yourself a tongue transplant!! Speaking from personal experience, I don't know how many times I've watched the likes of DJ "Terry-Fuckwit" playing what sounds like a lobotomized Mickey Mouse rubbing his genitals up and down a soap covered supermarket shop window...First, all the girls go home (now, why would you do that!) and then what's left is a room full of 'boys' (ok now I understand why you did that!) They've all got their hoods up and starring at their trainers really menacingly...Occassionally, the sound of stomping fearful trainers is broken as one hooded dog shite eater looks around to another and say's "Ardcore 'cid trance Goa breakbeat style!"

The Fruit Loops remix of Loops & Tings still stands today as one of the defining moments in trance.

Released in early 1993, it sent shockwaves through a post-rave Europe and right in the middle of gabber hysteria.

This was no "hardcore" track. The tempo was fast but the sounds were far removed from the harshness of gabba. A rolling bassline and melodic flourishes set Loops & Tings apart from the rest, even if the intro did confuse the hell out of people!

Many more trance classics would emerge from in the years ahead, but Loops & Tings was there from the beginning.

It has been remixed (always using the Fruit Loops remix as base opposed to the frankly terrible original) numerous times over the years with decent results.

The 1997 Invisible Man (a.k.a. Red Jerry) remix was worth note, and the track found many new fans in 2003 thanks to Marco V's stunning rework.

Even still, nothing can beat the 1993 Fruit Loops remix for innovation and what it helped to shape in the European trance scene.
