It is a quality product; no pops, crackles, non-fill, or sibilance are present. It is an all-around decent master. It is worth your investment. Get one while you still can.

Great pressing. Better sound quality and the sleeve and innersleeve are also of much better quality than the 2015 pressing.
Please, 'Voice' for RSD 2026, on gray or marbled vinyl!

Lovely pressing. I'm naturally sceptical about the sound on coloured vinyl, but this sounds great (which seems not to have been the case with the previous Cooking Vinyl edition). Sad that it's limited to 3,000 copies - this is an album that deserves a wider audience. I count myself lucky to have found a copy online.

A sparkling album that combines Alison's soulful vocals with electro cool.
Unlike her arresting work with Yazoo, Hometime is awash with lush
sounds of synths and guitars (and is that a harpsichord?!).

"Ski" is my favorite track... starting out almost New Age then launching
into a Deep Groove that predicted her glitchy sound on the later album Other.

"More" is a smooth sinuous track that meanders around Alison's voice
sounding so close to the ear... gorgeous! The entire album is a real
masterpiece and a treat for the senses.

Alison's departure from Sony was the best thing that could have
happened because since she has turned out amazing album after
amazing album always impressing and going forward to the future.

Alison Moyet started her musical career in the early 1980s as a singer of the synthesizerduo Yazoo. This was followed by a successful solo career, of which the CDs Alf and formed the Raindancing highlights. Also in the Netherlands, she scored big hits with Love Resurrection, All Cried Out and That Ole Devil Called Love. Her latest album, Essex appeared in 1994 and then became silent. After eight years, however, she is totally back with Hometime. Her typical poppy crooner style is obviously matured during this period, as if it were a bottle of good wine. Her compositions common more depth and are optimally developed led by the producer duo The Insects in the Omni Studios by Massive Attack. The necessary trip hop influences are not from the air. However, the popkant hang more Hometime to making them manifests itself as a female version of David Bowie. All songs on Hometime are of such a high level, that it is very difficult to get a favorite from here. Rarely is a comeback so strong.

Absolutely brilliant album but this pressing is borderline awful, such a missed opportunity. Between this and XTC's Apple Venus, I'm thinking Cooking Vinyl is bent on crappy pressings of masterpiece albums...
