Bowie* – A Reality Tour

I am surprised that the quality here I read is very bad. In my case it is just the opposite. I really have the same version and sounds just perfect...how? No, I have a good music installation and ears :-)

Sound quality of the Euro press is really great! All you Americans out there, I can only advise you to grab a copy before it runs out... Fantastic concert with a lot of songs from Reality and Heathen, two albums boasting a return in form of one of the greatest artists of our days. This concert, on this pressing, is definitely highly recommended.

FRIDAY MUSIC is a disaster. It should be illegal for them to sell the garbage pressings they do, but people keep buying the trash they flood the market with. The sound on this is horrendous. Don't waste your money on anything Friday Music/ Joe Reagoso puts out.

Not one I’d recommend. To my mind, it’s almost like a well-made bootleg. Some of it sounds ok. My side 3 sounds terrible though. Loads of sibilance and the snares sound like someone shaking a box of matches.

. Save your money, folks.

I just picked up the recent reissue of this album that hit stores this past Friday, July 22, 2022. I selected this entry https://discogs.cinepelis.org/release/8566929-Bowie-A-Reality-Tour to enter it my record database but I'm wondering if it should have its own release version?

The worst possible sound for a superb live, ultra-compressed and muddy sound even on vinyl, impossible to listen if you love this fantastic music.

It’s doesn’t sound so so bad considering ... it’s a live and it’s been released 12 years after the event and wasn’t probably at the time recorded with the intention to be press on a vinyl, plus the lp is fully packed, too much songs per vinyl, and to give it a chance you have to throughly clean it because it comes fully loaded with static electricity.

I thought the Friday Music offering of Heathen sounded quite good. And since this concert absolutely kicks ass, I wanted an “audiophile “ version. Now, from what I’m reading, I should have just stuck with my cd/dvd until some serious Hi-Res audio files come out digitally. Tony Visconti, help us out! Oh well, at least I like the color blue.

I'm just gonna add my voice to the chorus here. This is a ridiculously overpriced release, and the packaging is ludicrously misleading. There's just so much here that will have you scratching your head. Why is it in this giant box when there's nothing in it other than three LP's and two insubstantial inserts? Why are there 10-12 tracks crammed onto each LP when they could've just pressed it onto 4 LP's? I mean, they're charging us over $100...what are we paying for? The volume level is low and the sound quality isn't the best. The live albums that Parlophone released are all on 3 LP's, cost half as much, and sound significantly better.

That said, I can't be completely upset at this particular album, because quality issues aside, the setlist for A Reality Tour is truly outstanding. It's a really great mix of the best from Reality and Heathen, along with the best of his back catalog. A really great show overall.

Friday Music is a joke. I am not surprised to read so many terrible reviews of this pressing.
