Hypnotize / Mezmerize were both released the same year, and this reissue sucks. One is printed upside down, with stickers on the CD case (in cheap cardboard) not even well applied. The sound is a mix of limiting compression abuse, and plain distortion in the mid frequencies. Listening on an high end stereo helps but still not great. Overall it's one the best Hard Rock album to ever been released so I recommend the 2 CD collection... But I'd recommend the 2005 original jewel case version more than this cardboard crap.

Loud pops on Soldier side all the way through even after cleaning, but they disappear on BYOB.
I dont mind the production here, its very 2005, but the bass drums are a bit muddy for an album with a good amount of double bass. -

For me, this is one of SOAD's best albums. The sound on my copy is perfect. It has a near-perfect pressing. Purchased from Revolver Records (Barcelona). -

Thought I lucked out when I found this in a box of CDs. I got from some relatives then I realized I had the clean version, biggest disappointment ever. -

Amazing sound for a cheap reissue. Lacks some bass here and there and the vocals are a bit muddy but other than that it's as good as it gets. -

PHENOMENAL PRESS, great range and sound stage, with fantastic Bass on this pressing. An absolute joy to listen to every time. -

Bit noisy between tracks or when the album is quieter, but it’s a solid pressing. Clipping/distortion is the world famous Rick Rubin treatment but there’s still much to enjoy in this pressing. It plays well, sounds good (despite the mixing issues) and is a good price (hovers around 20 on Amazon). Hopefully a better release will be available in the future but until then, this is more than serviceable. -

No surface noise, no clicks or pops, and sounds huge with the extra dynamics (as opposed to the digital master). TT-DR 1.4 clocks this at DR10. Shame about the inner groove distortion. -
