Megadeth – Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?

This is one of the worst records I have ever heard. It sounds like complete mush and has zero dynamics. I would have thought this was unofficial if I did not buy directly from a retailer.

Listen not to the complainers. The sound is big, beefy and clear.

I agree with a lot of the previous reviews, this sounds very muddy. Not awful, but not good.

Just paid $100 for this set, gently used and complete, from a shop. Adjust your prices, sellers.

Also, awesome set for one of my favorite albums. The Randy Burns mixes are a special favorite.

Owned this album since 1986. It's been played with numerous cartridges and phono stages. However,now is the time to review this pressing.
This pressing is simply sensational. Deep bass,uncanny separation of instruments,you can hear Ellefson's bass at all times,even short fills.There are no shrill,screeching notes or vocals.Huge slam on drums. There are so many layers of music coming at you it can be overwhelming at times. Placement of instruments is fabulous too.The SHM-CD is outstanding,but this pressing beats it for sheer realism. Reviewed at very high volume in respect for the genre. Grab a copy if you can as the information is in those grooves.

Fantastic Pressing! This is a must have for a fine Megadeth collection!

This is the only copy of this killer album I have on vinyl, so I have nothing to compare it to. Here's my observation after obtaining a rather nice copy (for thankfully very low dollar)...
Vinyl is very flat.
Vinyl plays very quiet with no wonky surface noise.
Bass is very thick and heavy.
As noted by others, mids are pushed way up and out.
Highs could have been brought out a bit more. This would have fixed everything in my opinion.
Some EQ tweaking helps. It's not horrible, but could be better.
Jacket is quality as is the inner sleeve.
I'm happy with my purchase.

Yeah I have a sealed copy of this tape and it has a price sticker on it for $7.88 from Walmart lol

Absolutely falls flat, imagine if all of your EQ bands were set at Neutral/0, this would be the sound.

Compared to the US 2018 purple vinyl: besides the translucent vs opaque purple vinyl, they didn't use the plates from the previous and current reissues (Capitol-mastered plates), they had Lex van Coeverden make a new one for this EU pressing. As far as I know, this is the only pressing with his vinyl mastering.

It sounds great to me, bass-wise I don't think anything better can be done. Great clarity and great amplitude as well. The EU pressing is definitely better than the US pressing in my opinion.
