The Cure – 4:13 Dream

Great album, not sure why some people didn’t care for it. Sounds like a typical Cure sounding album to me! My favorite tracks off here are Underneath the Stars, The Only One, The Hungry Ghost, Freakshow, Switch, The Perfect Boy, There Here and Now with You and Sleep When I’m Dead.

Has anyone heard the quality of this release on red or black vinyl?

One of the most criminally underrated Cure records ever, this is arguably there best record since Wish. The mix is interresting, but sounds rich, textured, and honestly fantastic.

No streaming service will deliver this album in the ridiculously lossy quality that this CD truly does.

I recently bought a sealed original of 4.13 Dream at a reasonable price. I was never that struck on the album when I listened on Spotify but on vinyl it grows on you & while it’s nowhere near the best album the Cure have done it’s actually not bad & very listenable. The Geffen reproduction isn’t a patch on the older albums on Fiction & the sleeve seems cheap but if you’re a Cure fan you can get this at a reasonable price it’s a good addition to your collection.

Can anyone tell me please, where 4:13 Dream was recorded? Name of the studio / country.

Such a shame... The only LP available for this album is simply bad. Sound is flat, no relief; dynamic is very low... All is boring to listen.
I'm a real fan of The Cure but I have to be objective, this is the worst LP pressing of The Cure collection.
Obviously, if you're a Cure's fan, you have to buy this LP but, don't expect a real pleasure to listen this vinyls.

I have listened to the cure since 1984...I love this album...I will go with Robert Smiths assessment that if you dont like this album you are not a Cure fan.....cut and dry. I purchased this new and it was flat quiet and the overall package was very well done. It is a very loud dark recording ...then again you should expect that from the title. if you like albums like The Top or early Cure ..you will prob love this...its different...but that is good. I also see notes about the price...well...isnt that what discogs is all about? Most Japanese viny cost 22 or 25dollars...now they are way more...its part of collecting...want low prices...buy the cd. LOL. Also the best thing about the 2ndary market is that you know the pressing is good or bad...especially if its a private collector.

Glad I only paid around 5 euro for the CD . Mediocre album, it’s time to say stop here. Like a walk on the desert. a couple of Good songs , but the rest? Naah. It’s the end of the road, I really hope.
