Unconfirmed speculation: DJ Duke edited and mixed the Vol. III Genius At Work mix in 1986/87. The Janet Jackson mix is by an unknown editor. Trouble Funk was added because at the time, the record was considered rare and was highly sought after.

I did the Genius At Work mix. It's not speculation because I can confirm it.
It was done at Swemix studios in Stockholm while I was there DJing in 1986, then while working at Downstairs records in NYC I played it for George who did a lot of the bootlegs at the time and he liked it and put it out. It was done on a reel to reel so we transferred it at some dude's house in Long Island and added the Change The Beat part at the end. -
