Donna Summer – Bad Girls

Attention, Disco is here...and this album is just awesome. It's great sounding, too. The pressing is fine. I recommend it.
Played on:
Technics SL-100C, Audio Technica VM-95C/E/ML (depending on record condition and taste), Rega Fono Mini A2D MK2, Technics SU-G700M2, Yamaha NS-777

Each record is likely close to 180gr and sounds amazing. Not sure which lacquer was used or who did the mastering but it sounds full and dynamic. Only note is the listing should be changed to state "orange" vinyl since that's the color...no hit of red to be found, but still very unique.

Stunning sound quality. My copy is dead quiet and with a great soundstage. Stereo separation is perfect and well balances. An evergreen of disco music. Japanese press never disappoint!

I bought what I thought was "Get Wet" by Mental As Anything for $5 at an opportunity shop. When I got home, I discovered a Donna Summer record inside the cover instead. Initially disappointed, I gave it a spin and was pleasantly surprised.

I even went back to the shop to swap it, but the Donna Summer cover was nowhere to be found. It must have been fate!

Favorite track: "Dim All The Lights." What a happy accident!

We've received reissues of two Casablanca/Oasis Donna releases, Love to Love You Baby, very nice, and Greatest Hits Volume I & II, also very nice in pink and purple vinyl. Both were very true to the originals with the latter boasting an added gatefold not found with the original.
Now we have Bad Girls. Overall, this is a nicer release than the first but still has it's pros and cons.

1. Cover art is WAY too dark and glossy, 2019's release was better in this area
2. The inner gatefold is pretty close to original.
3. The red and blue vinyl colors are a nice touch but sound quality isn't as great. But is okay.
4. Disc 1 s/b Side 1&4, Disc 2 s/b 2&3 like the original that accommodated spindle type record players.
5. Of the two releases, this one is the better of the two, with the exception of cover photo exposure.

The first reissue was okay but has flaws as well. Lets hope we will see the other 5 or so [depending on if you count Live and soundtracks] Casablanca LP's reissued as well.

3. The LP sleeves do not have the song lyrics/credits which is probably why they choses to do as in #2.
4. Disc 1 s/b Side 1&4, Disc 2 s/b 2&3 like the original that accommodated spindle type record players.
5. The added demo version of Bad Girls is a nice thought but a distraction to originality.

The next reissue is a bit better but has it's flaws as well. Lets hope we will see the other 5 or so [depending on if you count Live and soundtracks] Casablanca LP's reissued as well.

Nice pressing. Almost no surface noise. Good dynamics, crystal clear sound.

I wish all reissues would sound like this record. Good old time. They did know their stuff.

Fantastic pressing. Great mastering and artwork - every track’s a winner. One of the best of its era.

i have an issue with uk labels but is translucent..Is there an IRELAND PRESSING???

Crappy cover photo! Way too dark! Looks like a bad photocopy.
