Edited one year agoWe've received reissues of two Casablanca/Oasis Donna releases, Love to Love You Baby, very nice, and Greatest Hits Volume I & II, also very nice in pink and purple vinyl. Both were very true to the originals with the latter boasting an added gatefold not found with the original.
Now we have Bad Girls. Overall, this is a nice release with a few pros and cons.
1. Cover has nice color and is more bright and vivid compared to the future issue in 2021.
2. The inner gatefold is not true to the original in that it has the credits instead of the lyrics to Bad Girl.
3. The LP sleeves do not have the song lyrics/credits which is probably why they choses to do as in #2.
4. Disc 1 s/b Side 1&4, Disc 2 s/b 2&3 like the original that accommodated spindle type record players.
5. The added demo version of Bad Girls is a nice thought but a distraction to originality.
The next reissue is a bit better but has it's flaws as well. Lets hope we will see the other 5 or so [depending on if you count Live and soundtracks] Casablanca LP's reissued as well.

This 40th Anniversary reissue has the best reproduced album artwork I've seen since the original 1979 pressings. The LP labels are crisp, clean, and well-centered, and the gatefold album cover is "relatively" accurate and well done compared to other reissues (CDs included). Unfortnately, Elemental Music didn't take that one additional step to reproduce the original record sleeves. Sound quality is very good, relying on the 2003 remaster, but not nearly as spectacular as VMP's 2021 LP reissue, which ironically enough, has the WORST reproduced album art I've seen.
