If you want to hear a good sound, you have to get the first pressing - no comparison with the 40th anniversary edition.
The 40th is extremely quiet and doesn't have much power, but a milestone in speed metal history -
This 2003 edition respects the original art but the sound is nothing like Shrapnel's original from '83.
The sound of this album was thin and very sharp, nothing like that happens on this edition -
Edited one year agoA vast improvement on the original! Definitely much nicer sounding than the roadrunner version! It sounds fuller and the tremble is not as ear piercing as the original. I own all pressings except for that 2008 mess with evil sinner on it (lol), and I must say I prefer listening to this over my other two pressings including the Shrapnel one. A bonus also that the front and rear cover has been kept faithful to the original! Wish all represses were as nice visually and sounding as this one. Well done! Bravo

Anyone knows if original Shrapnel press has the issue as on this Roadrunner press? Stand Up And Fight has noticeable detoriated s-sounds on vocals, and it's bit better but noticeable on title track, as well. S'es sound hissy and detoriated especially on those songs but it gets better after few first songs of each side.
I initially thought maybe there's error on my gear or on the vinyl (even though vinyl seemingly is in very neat condition), itself, but then I checked youtube and one full album which doesn't say "remaster" and it sounds EXACTLY the same. Few youtube s that say "remaster" have much cleaner s'es on vocals and they don't sound detoriated on that part. -
Definitely from LP rip. Click and pop all over the tracks. And the worst if compare track 1 and 5 you will see big tracking distortion on guitars. And on all this fu888cking situation someone who think that can make mastering burned out all the songs placing limiter. Why there is no one who can care for the fans and make some proper mastering from original tapes. All they think is money.
FU** THEM ALL! (Labels and limiter (and who use limiter)) -

in all releases from 2005 onward (https://discogs.cinepelis.org/it/Exciter-Heavy-Metal-Maniac-Violence-Force/release/4053241 (including its strengths and weaknesses). Track 5 is a vinyl rip with a mastering/ripping/ or somewhat error at the end of the song (this song has the same conclusion of "Rising of the dead);tracks 10 & 11 again a vinyl rip (with a lot of clicks) and No. 11 starts badly and finish hardly mutilated and faded out .Interviews are taken from an old tape cassette recorded from a radio broadcast
