Notes
From 1972 to 2001, the American singer Michael Jackson released ten studio albums.
'Dangerous' is the eighth studio album by American recording artist Michael Jackson, released on November 26, 1991 by Epic Records. It was his fourth studio album released under the Epic label, and his first since 1975's 'Forever', Michael not to be produced by longtime collaborator Quincy Jones, who had agreed to split after the final recording sessions for Jackson's 1987 album, 'Bad'.
'Dangerous' took over a year in production, and was produced by Jackson with additional production from his friends Bill Bottrell and Teddy Riley. Jackson wrote twelve of the fourteen songs on the album. Lyrical themes expressed on the album included racism, poverty, romance, the welfare of children and the world and self-improvement, topics Jackson had covered before.
Nine singles were released from 'Dangerous' between November 1991 and December 1993, with seven singles issued in the United States, and two others released only outside the US. The two singles released outside the United States were successful, charting within the top ten and top forty respectively.
'Dangerous' peaked at number one in nine countries, while charting at the top ten in four other territories. The only songs not released were 'Why You Wanna Trip on Me', 'She Drives Me Wild', 'Can't Let Her Get Away', 'Keep the Faith' and 'Dangerous'; a video and a single release for the latter was said to have been planned, but was postponed indefinitely due to the musician's tour.
'Dangerous' received several Grammy nominations, winning only one for Best Engineered Album (Non Classical) by Bruce Swedien and Riley. The album also received three nominations at the American Music Awards of 1993 ultimately winning two awards, mainly: Favorite Soul/R&B Single for the single ' the Time' and Favorite Pop/Rock Album for the album itself. 'Dangerous' has sold 32 million copies worldwide, 7 million albums were shipped in the United States alone, and has been cited as one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album produced four top ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including the number-one hit 'Black or White'. Similar to the musician's previous material, the album's music features elements of R&B, pop and rock while also incorporating a newer genre, new jack swing, after the inclusion of producer Teddy Riley to the project in a bid to present Jackson to a younger urban audience. According to Chicago Tribune journalist Kelley L. Carter, it is the most successful new jack swing album of all time.

Aww man this is a jewel. What’s interesting at that time was MJ’s demand was still so great that he wasn’t pushed to CD only. My college radio station was issued album copies because the new Jack cuts were available to use before labels issued future singles (Jam comes to mind). The levels on the full album carry the same warmth as a 12 inch single (this allowed to mixers to play Can’t Let Her heavily even though it was never released as a single). This is one of the best mastered vinyls I’ve ever heard. -
INSANE STEREO IMAGING ! Listened with headphones and thought someone was banging on MY door when Black or White started playing. Haven’t listened to older pressings but highly recommend this one.
-
Has anyone else had a mispress? My copy has a solid red first disc with no black compound whike disc two is marbled as expected?
Not that it matters as the sound is DANGEROUSLY GOOD! -

This version sounds quite good IMHO and better than the original vinyl. I do not have the original 1991 cd to compare though. -
WHOOOAAA , FANTASTIC PRESS!!!
I didnt expect much as the Jacko reissues usually get slated for being inferior to their OGs and i will also state ive only had this on CD and cassette (oof!) til now. I find this is absolutely balanced to perfection with a richness i hear in the production my CD doesnt replicate but not at the expense of detail or soundstage. Both discs are flat, on centre and quiet. Ive always felt this album was underrated. Its a new jack swing record for almost half the length and its the best new jack swing album ever in the process. The rest is kind of random but mostly brilliant imo but i realise it grated on some fans.
Also compared to the red marbled edition this one has a cleaner sound, the marbled vinyl seems to add a layer of light hash distortion like many coloured presses can. Its essentially the same quality mastering though. Another difference is that although both editions have a low rent single sleeve, this older press has a glossy look and better contrast/colour for the lovely album artwork.
Yeah.... i totally recommend this press!!! -

Pressed from Dutch stampers, cover also seems to be made in Haarlem as it has the same quality as the European release, unavailable in Poland at that time. The only difference is the white sticker over the barcode. The label states: Made in Poland. MJM was the only official distributor of EMI, Sony and BMG calalogue in Poland then. All of their releases were pressed in Poland, using the stampers made abroad. It sounds almost identical to the European pressing, if not slightly better. -
looks and sounds beautiful, except with some IGD I've had that's most apparent on the title track even with a microline stylus.

Dead quiet, very good dynamics and bass. I purposefully bought black vinyl as it tends to be better. No complaints, great recording. -

OMG! I really want this album SOOO much on vinyl (BUT the Original Version not some junk the Estate have made) and i hope to get it one day and get 3 copies of it, ESP. the US copy from 1991 as well. I already have Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad, and now Dangerous is what I need. Good thing Christmas IS coming up. -
Beautiful double red vinyls with black swirls.
The sound is very powerful with a presence of pops cracks and static sound, at least on my copy.
I have to clean it and see if it improve the listening experience.
But overall happy with my copy !
