Lookout! Beware! Adjust speed -2.5 to correct pitch issues.
In every way I'm there, to use an EQ for some bass boost.
The first disc was even more lacking in low end than the other 4.
Boosting it heavily with EQ seems really hallows out the midrange so use sparingly.
As if all those issues weren't enough, my copy has also been blessed with little bump in the pressing on Woman. Thankfully this is VENOM and no sissy ass little bump could possibly overpower their sound.
Even with all of it's shortcomings I am still glad to have found 'obtainable' copies for cranking in the jukebox.
But I suspect the pitch issue may become 'Death by a thousand cuts'...

The box set looks great and not sounds so bad . I am glad to have it. C'mon it's not for audiophiles it's Venom!!!

Edited 4 years agoThis is a pretty crappy release that is only worthwhile as a dust collecting novelty. The covers and box are nice quality and I wish I could say the same thing about the wax. Each record is beautifully pressed on splatter vinyl, but that is where any kind of quality control ends because as another reviewer mentioned all 5 of the 7" records play at the wrong speed and play slightly faster. In addition, there is little to no audible bass and they sound quite frankly... terrible. Everyone who bought this should have their money refunded or sent new repressed records from back on black. It is an unacceptable release that I will keep only to stare at the covers when I'm feeling nostalgic and extremely bored and playing a different Venom release. It was a missed opportunity for a nice release as it really is quite attractive.

Edited 5 years agoWasted money, all discs are mastered with uncorrect running speed(faster) with a lot of clicks and hiss.many songs seems to be in mono.Interesting only for the single "In League With Satan (the first disc):guitars and drums sound literally different from the album versions, because are the original versions from the original 7'' single released before "Welcome To Hell",and both tracks have been never officially released on another format before.

It has unfortunately quite poor sound quality. They could also have press it on flexi disc and it would be similar.
